A First Look at Kidsfest 2025

Get ready for a week packed with fun, learning, and community spirit — KidsFest is coming June 2–8, 2025! This multi-day, community-wide festival brings together local businesses, organizations, and families to celebrate the children in our region with a variety of exciting, family-friendly events. From hands-on art to messy science, live shows to life-size games, there’s something for every child to explore and enjoy. Whether you’re discovering hidden gems or revisiting beloved favorites, KidsFest offers a chance to experience the very best our community has to offer.

Monday, June 2 kicks off KidsFest with a tasty treat—stop by Smoothie King for a free kids smoothie with the purchase of a 20 oz smoothie! Creative kids can get their hands dirty with Soil Art & Colors sessions at both the Barboursville and Cox Landing Libraries. The excitement continues with inflatable fun at Pump Up the Fun’s Bounce Party, and little firetruck lovers won’t want to miss the Fire Station Tour at Huntington Fire Station 2 (advance registration required). In the evening, bring your bikes to Safety Town’s Bike Rodeo, and don’t forget to grab a bite at Hillbilly Hot Dogs, where a portion of the day’s sales supports HCM through a Dine to Donate event.

Tuesday, June 3 brings more Soil Art & Colors fun to the Main Library and West Huntington Library. Budding artists can try their hand at printmaking at the Huntington Museum of Art, while game lovers can dive into life-size board games at the Huntington Mall. Later, bring your favorite stuffed friend to the Teddy Bear Clinic at Huntington Children’s Museum for a gentle check-up, then wrap up the day with another Do Good with Chipotle fundraiser near the mall.

Wednesday, June 4 is all about wellness and kindness! Join us at the Huntington Children’s Museum for Try This: Food & Yoga, a morning of movement and mindful eating, followed by Kids Vote, where little ones can learn about civic engagement in a kid-friendly way — both events are FREE thanks to Bimbo Bakeries. In the evening, children can give back by helping pack snacks for those in need at the Huntington City Mission.

Thursday, June 5 begins with more Soil Art & Colors sessions at Gallaher and Guyandotte Libraries. Over at the Huntington Children’s Museum, kids can explore geology with Earth’s Treasures: Rock, Mineral & Fossil Exploration, then get hands-on with sound at the Musical Instrument Petting Zoo – both events are FREE thanks to Moses Automall and Jenking Fenstermaker PLLC. In the evening, girls interested in science and tech are invited to Girls in STEAM, while families can support HCM at West Tenampa’s Mexican Restaurant for another delicious Dine to Donate opportunity.

Friday, June 6 is jam-packed with creativity and competition! The day starts early with the epic Cardboard Boat Regatta at the Marshall Rec Center (registration required), followed by more Soil Art & Colors fun at the Salt Rock and Milton Libraries. At the Huntington Children’s Museum, kids can let their imaginations soar with all-day Cardboard Creations, and in the evening, the building blocks come out for a crowd-favorite LEGO Competition. The first 100 children who visit the Museum on Friday get in FREE thanks to Scott Bumgardner’s Edward Jones office.

Saturday, June 7 offers a full day of adventure and discovery. Head to Heritage Farm for discounted admission and family fun, then prepare to get messy at the always-popular MessFest at HCM! The first 100 children who visit the Museum on Saturday get in FREE thanks to West Virginia American Water. Crafty kids can join Saturday KidsArt at the Huntington Museum of Art, while volunteers can help create sensory packs for children in need. The day wraps up with the Good Time Kids’ Show at Foundry Theater — kids get in free, and adults are just $10!

Sunday, June 8 brings the week to a grand finale with a Science Celebration at Huntington Children’s Museum, free for all thanks to RECO. In the afternoon, explore history and engineering at the Outdoor Train Museum Exploration located at 14th Street West and Memorial Boulevard.

Make the most of this joyful week and celebrate everything that makes our community a great place to grow up. We can’t wait to see you at KidsFest 2025!
