Get your milk ready! We’re setting a gingerbread trap! No gingerbread man will get away on our watch!
Huntington Children’s Museum will have supplies on hand to make upcycled gingerbread houses on Saturday, December 4 at The Pottery Place from 9 to 11 AM. You may bring supplies from home to compliment the supplies we provide. You may also create your gingerbread house in advance and drop it off anytime during the event. If you choose to create your house in advance, use supplies you have on hand at home. Gather cardboard and other recyclables, used gift bags, old LEGOs, or planters to create your structure. Accessorize with items in your junk drawer and leftover craft supplies. We’ll build a gingerbread village no gingerbread person can resist!
Entries will be divided into four groups by age. A picture of each gingerbread house will be placed on Facebook. The photo with the most likes in each group will win $100 in local gift cards.
This is a free event. We are not charging an entry fee. If you would like to find a family, business, or organization to sponsor your house, we would appreciate it. To complete the sponsorship form, go to tinyurl.com/hcmhousesponsor. Sponsorship is not required to participate. Sponsors and individuals are welcome to donate by going to givebutter.com/hcmkids or mail checks to the address below. Checks should be addressed to Huntington Children’s Museum. Sponsors need to complete sponsorship forms and submit payment before December 1.
