Growing Healthy Futures Through Play

Huntington Children’s Museum is proud to announce a new partnership with Project Healthy Kids that will bring a full year of hands-on nutrition, cooking, gardening, and food exploration programs to the museum. Thanks to generous funding from the Pallottine Foundation, these programs will be free with museum admission, making it easier than ever for families to learn healthy habits together.

Food Adventure with Chef Joe & Leah invites children and their grownups into the world of cooking. Once a month, beginning in October, little chefs will practice age-appropriate kitchen skills, discover where food comes from, prepare simple recipes, and learn how nutritious foods help growing bodies thrive. Whether it’s learning safe knife skills, tasting new fruits and vegetables, or creating healthy snacks together, every session is designed to build confidence and curiosity.

Just as important, children will have opportunities to step outside with Spring Gardening with Bev on March 3rd, where they’ll discover the journey from seed to table. Families will explore what plants need to grow, learn how gardens nourish both people and communities, and experience the excitement of growing food with their own hands.

The partnership will also include special events like our Kids Pop-Up Farmers Market on Wednesday, September 2, where children can shop for fresh produce using their own vouchers, take home recipe cards, and discover that healthy eating can be fun, affordable, and delicious. Limited FREE tickets available here – https://givebutter.com/Healthy-Kids-Market

Project Healthy Kids believes that healthy habits begin early and are strongest when families learn together. Through interactive, hands-on experiences, the organization helps children build lifelong skills around nutrition, cooking, gardening, and healthy food choices while making learning playful and engaging.

We’re incredibly grateful to the Pallottine Foundation for making this partnership possible and to our friends at Project Healthy Kids for bringing their expertise and enthusiasm to the museum.

Together, we’re creating opportunities for children to cook, plant, taste, explore, and discover that healthy living can be an adventure.
