Reading Nook

• Needing a quiet area to relax? Look no further than The Reading Nook! Here you will find an array of books and a choice of bean bags or a cozy cave to read and relax in. In this nook, you can read with a friend or by yourself…the choice is yours. Additionally, this area is a designated calm-down area for our friends who might feel overwhelmed.

Science Lab

• The Discovery Zone is the perfect place to explore your inner scientist. From using our microscope to explore different types of bugs, measuring sea animals on scales, and reaching inside the hide-and-seek boxes, you are sure to find something new to explore in the Discovery Zone.

City on the Move

• City on the Move is a vibrant pretend-play space where children can step into the roles of the grown-ups in their lives and explore how a city works together. Visit our very own Valley Health Office to care for patients by taking x-rays, washing hands, listening with a stethoscope, or handing out Band-Aids. Head to The Wild Ramp Market to shop, stock shelves, or ring up groceries—choosing from fresh produce, canned goods, meat, seafood, and bakery items—then carry your finds to the Café, where fruits and vegetables become delicious pretend meals cooked on the stove and served to friends by the window. Feeling civic-minded? Step up to the City Hall podium to practice your mayoral acceptance speech before taking the firetruck or ambulance for a spin around town. In City on the Move, children build confidence, communication skills, and real-world understanding through imaginative, hands-on play.

Curiosity Cove

• This interactive space invites children to build, animate, draw, and design through hands-on STREAM exploration. Take a seat on a wobble stool in the Lego Construction area and let your imagination run wild as you create people, cars, buildings, and more—then bring your creations to life at the Video Animation station by placing your figures in front of the camera and producing your own short film, complete with a QR code so you can watch it again at home. Prefer to color? The Drawing Animation station offers special coloring sheets and a Magic Scanner that transforms your artwork into moving images on the giant screen—whether it’s a rainbow turtle or a super-fast car, your creation will glide across the display. Don’t forget the red, white, and delightfully fun Electro-Sketch Board, where you can twist the knobs to draw, press erase, and start fresh again and again. Every station is designed to encourage creativity, problem-solving, and joyful experimentation.

Sensory City

• This hands-on environment is designed to engage the senses and spark curiosity through water, ice, and creative exploration. Whether you grab a rain smock or dive right in, splash along the Ohio Valley Watershed at our dynamic water table, where children can experiment with the movement of water as it spins, sprinkles, flows, builds up, and drains through tunnels, tubes, and plates. Launch colorful plastic balls into the swirling vortex along the metal river slide and watch the currents carry them away—just remember to use your walking feet, as the floor can be slippery! At the Ice Sculpting Table, combine imagination with the cool sensation of real ice as you dig, mold, and build animals, shapes, or even towering ice castles (don’t worry—our play guides keep the ice refreshed so creativity can continue all day). And in this space, water becomes art on our slate board, where brushes, sponges, and even your own hands transform simple strokes into beautiful, ever-changing masterpieces. In Sensory City, children explore science, creativity, and sensory play all at once—learning through joyful, hands-on discovery.

Into the Wild Climbing Club

• Climb to new heights as a part of our Climbing Club. In this area, you’ll have the chance to climb the bumpy mountain to the top of the rope bridge, then down the mountain, and onto the swing. When you are not climbing, you can enjoy playing music on our wall piano or pressing the different animals to hear their sounds. There are also a variety of places to hide within the climbing club, including underneath the mountains, on the swing, and underneath the rope bridge. You can even make your own quiet space beneath the Climbing Club’s cave
