Daniel Tiger Heads to Huntington Children’s Museum for Free Back-to-School Celebration on August 1

Families are invited to kick off the new school year with one of PBS KIDS’ most beloved neighbors during Back-to-School with Daniel Tiger, a free community event on Saturday, August 1, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Huntington Children’s Museum.

Families are invited to kick off the new school year with one of PBS KIDS’ most beloved neighbors during Back-to-School with Daniel Tiger, a free community event on Saturday, August 1, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Huntington Children’s Museum.

Presented by West Virginia Public Broadcasting in partnership with the West Virginia State Treasurer’s Office SMART529 Plan, the event is designed to help children and families celebrate the excitement of learning while connecting with community resources before the school year begins.

Children will have the opportunity to meet Daniel Tiger, enjoy storytime, participate in hands-on activities, receive free PBS KIDS giveaways (while supplies last), and explore exhibits throughout the Huntington Children’s Museum. Community organizations will also be on hand to share resources and information for local families.

Thanks to the generous support of Uptown Musik and Fine Arts, admission to the Huntington Children’s Museum will be free from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., giving families the opportunity to enjoy the museum’s interactive exhibits before, during, and after the event.

“Events like Back-to-School with Daniel Tiger bring together learning, play, and community in a way that helps children feel excited and confident about the school year ahead,” said Raine Klover, Executive Director of the Huntington Children’s Museum. “We’re grateful to partner with West Virginia Public Broadcasting, the SMART529 Plan, and Uptown Musik and Fine Arts to make this experience available free of charge for local families.”

The event is free and open to the public. Families are encouraged to arrive early, as Daniel Tiger appearances and giveaways are expected to be popular.
